Why not check out one of these 8 amazing water parks while you’re there? You’ll find lots of fun things to do, along with water slides, pools, and other aquatic fun to keep you happy and entertained all day long!

1) What you need to know before visiting

-Great Wolf Lodge near Anaheim is more than a lodge. It’s also home to a lively indoor water park. Open rain or shine, the park features tons of high-speed slides, water cannons, and floating pools.

-It’s easy to beat the summer heat at Oak Tree Resort. A 20,000 square foot wave pool along with three fun rides mean that there are plenty of ways to get in on the action this summer for the entire family.

-Pacific Park is an old school amusement park with carnival games and bumper cars galore! It’s perfect for kids of all ages, from toddlers on up to teenagers.

2) Where to stay

Since we live in SoCal, one of our favorite water parks is just about an hour away. It’s open rain or shine and it’s not just water slides. There are surf pools with actual waves, children games, giant wave pools and even hot tubs. Plus, there are suites available that can accommodate multiple families if they want to share the space. 3) Where are some good family friendly restaurants?

You can’t surf at dinner time, but you can head to a delicious meal. Here are seven of our favorite family-friendly restaurants in Orange County and their best dishes. We recommend making reservations if you go to the larger chains because they tend to get busy during the weekends.

1) Conglomerate Grill—If you have children that love surfing or playing on slides, take them to this restaurant which features both a surf simulator and three water slides. Children will enjoy themselves as they surf under fake waves, slide down the indoor Wave Breaker, splash in the 360 degree 4 lane carousel water slide, or take turns sliding down an inner tube of racing on the ceiling.

2) Disneyland—Disneyland is really well known for being family friendly.

4) When is the best time to visit?

The best time to visit is during the week, when it’s less crowded. Also note that anyone at least 48 inches tall will be charged an entrance fee. For children games, there are arcade machines on the third floor with various age-appropriate titles like Disney Tsum Tsum. The pool also has its own assortment of games and toys that are accessible during designated hours. And because I know how hungry your kids might get after all that sliding, food carts on the first and third floors serve pizza, salads, ice cream cones, nachos and more.

Ouch! We can’t find the page you’re looking for 🙁

5) How do I book my room?

Start planning your family’s escape with The Great Wolf Lodge and be prepared for the best family vacation you’ve ever had. After booking your room, explore the park with 464,000 square feet of floor space to burn off some energy while making memories that will last forever. Then, cool off in our 75-foot tall indoor waterpark. With an extensive selection of thrilling slides, kiddie pools for little ones, and options for adults only who want to relax without the kids around—this is one great getaway everyone will love!

6) What should I bring?

* Towel or bathing suit. You’ll want to dry off in between each water ride, and you may want to use the pool after your body gets too hot. * Sunscreen with SPF of at least 30 and bug spray if necessary. The sun is high in the sky at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, so you’ll want to take care of yourself. * Sturdy shoes that are good for wading in shallow water.

* The hours for Great Wolf Lodge can vary by day, so check the website before arriving just to be safe.

7) Is there anything special I should know before I go?

When you’re planning your trip, be sure to ask the front desk about their exclusive rates for hotel guests. You may also want to bring extra clothes and swimsuits just in case you can’t make it home before changing for dinner. Check out our list of must-dos to get the most out of your day at Great Wolf Lodge:

1) Rent a floatie for the water park. Kids can barely keep themselves afloat, so why not give them something to cling onto? Plus, don’t forget sunscreen–even if you stay indoors all day!
