CUCET is a national-level entrance test that stands as one of the most prominent exams all over India. This national level exam is regulated by the central universities to shortlist the most proficient candidates for reading 14 central universities of India. Broadly this entrance test is for all the UG level courses after +2 examinations. However, you will also appear in the CUCET exams for all the PG courses and entrance tests.

The structure of the CUCET question paper 

The CUCET exam question paper is segmented into two sections. It encloses part A and Part B. Part A includes 25 questions, and Part B includes 75 questions in total. There is a total of 100 MCQ-type questions that come with different marking schemes. All the questions will be in English, and you have to answer the right option. Every paper in the CUCET exam will only offer you 2 hours to complete the question paper. 

However, if you appear for CUCET exams, you will have to be very careful about the wrong answers. This is because; this exam does have negative markings. For every right answer, candidates will grab 1 mark, but 0.25 marks will get deducted from the total mark for every wrong answer.

CUCET exam pattern for 2022

The exam pattern for the CUCET exam is quite transparent. Candidates will have to appear one paper segmented into two different parts. These parts include part A and Part B. In part A, you will get questions from English, general awareness, mathematical aptitude, and analytical skills. Similarly, in part B, the subjects you will get are Physics, chemistry, mathematics, and Biology. 

CUCET exam pattern for the Arts Stream

The above exam patterns were for the science and relevant UG courses. If you aspire for the Arts stream, there would be only one test paper. You would appear a total of 100 questions in objective type form. The only thing that you have to do is choose the correct option. The questions will come from subjects like Analytical Skills, Reasoning, General Aptitude, English, Numerical Aptitude/Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge.

CUCET exam pattern for research programs and Ph.D. programs

The exam pattern for all the research programs will be similar to the exam pattern of UGC CSIR and other NET JRF exams. However, for the Ph.D. programs, you will get questions divided into two sections. The part will carry 50 questions, and similarly, Part B will carry 50 questions. The part will have questions from subjects like English, General Knowledge, and Numerical Ability based on research methods. Similarly, part B will include questions from the respective research domain.

CUCET exam pattern for B.Ed programs 

The aspirants who are applying for the B.Ed exams will face a different question paper distinctive from all the above papers. The question paper will have three sections. It will include parts A, B, and Part C. 

  • Part A will offer you 25 MCQ-type questions from general awareness.
  • Part B will offer you 35 MCQ-type questions from teaching aptitude.
  • Similarly, Part C includes 40 MCG types questions from social science, language, Physical science, Mathematics, and Life science.

CUCET syllabus for UG and other integrated programs 

As you know that the CUCET question paper for UG and Integrated programs has two sections. Part A will cover the below-mentioned topics.

  • General Awareness
  • Mathematical Aptitude
  • Analytical Skills
  • English Language

Similarly, the part B will include the following topics and subjects:

CUCET eligibility criteria

Eligibility for UG courses

If you aspire for the UG courses, then the minimum score in the class 12th boards exam for the general category is 50%. Similarly, for the SC, ST, and OBC, the minimum marks in class 12th are 45%. In the class 12th, you must have read the following subjects:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics
  • Biology

Eligibility for PG courses

  • For the general category, minimal marks in the graduation courses must be 55% from a government certified university
  • The SC/ST/OBC candidates should have a minimal 50% in their graduation
