Betting on the Power 5 Conference Tournaments

The Power 5 Conference Tournaments do not start until next week. A lot of the mid-major conferences already have started their Conference Tournaments. These tournaments for the Power 5 schools are more of a moneymaker than anything else.

For the most part, the schools that win those tournaments will be in the NCAA Tournament anyway. Betting on March Madness is going to be fun when the brackets come out but haven’t the madness technically already started in these other conference tournaments, though?

What are some of the odds for the Power 5 Schools in these tournaments?

ACC

Table of Contents

The ACC has not been very strong this year. The Duke Blue Devils, to no one’s surprise, will be the favorites to win this tournament at -125 odds. They currently have a 26-4 overall record and a 16-3 conference record. Duke is locked into the number one seed for the ACC Tournament. They are potentially going to be a number two seed or a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament.

It is possible they don’t win that tournament, so the next favorites to win it is the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at +650. It doesn’t make sense how they have been on the bubble for most of the year. Notre Dame should be a lock. They currently have the same conference record as the North Carolina Tar Heels at 14-5, but the Tar Heels have the second seed tiebreaker over the Irish at the moment (number three seed for the moment). Notre Dame currently has a 21-9 record.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons have the third-best odds to win this tournament at +800 odds. They are currently fifth in the ACC with a 13-7 record. They have a 23-8 overall record. Wake Forest has not been to the NCAA Tournament in a while and could be an 8, 9, or 10 seed.

North Carolina has the fourth-best odds to win the ACC Tournament at +900. They have a 22-8 overall record so far this season. The Tar Heels have not been very consistent this season, but they are in line to be the 10th seed in the NCAA Tournament.

PAC-12

The PAC-12 has been also a very top-heavy conference this season. They will probably have three or four teams at the most representing them in the NCAA Tournament. The odds are not out yet for this conference tournament, but the Arizona Wildcats will probably be the favorites to win this conference tournament.

Arizona is in line to be one of the number one seeds in the NCAA Tournament. They currently have a 26-3 overall record and a 16-2 conference record. After that, USC and UCLA could have the same odds to win the PAC-12 Tournament.

They are both 14-5 in conference play. USC has a 25-5 overall record and UCLA has a 22-6 overall record so far this season.

The fourth favorite to win this conference would most likely be the Oregon Ducks. They have pulled off some upsets this season. Oregon is currently 18-11 overall and they have an 11-7 conference record.

SEC

This could be the conference that has the most teams in the NCAA Tournament and it could be anywhere from seven to nine. The Auburn Tigers and the Kentucky Wildcats could potentially be fighting for that other number one seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Vegas might have Kentucky as the slight favorites to win the SEC Tournament even though those odds aren’t out yet. The Wildcats are currently second in the conference with a 13-4 record and a 24-6 overall record.

Auburn would be right behind them in odds. The Tigers have a 14-3 conference record and they are currently the number one seed in the SEC. They have a 26-4 overall record so far this season.

The Arkansas Razorbacks and the Tennessee Volunteers are also 13-4 in conference play in the SEC and Arkansas is currently the third seed and Tennessee is currently the fourth seed. The Razorbacks have a 24-6 record and the Volunteers have a 22-7 record
